I want to replace my 1980 Cat 25 mainsail. Catalina Direct offers an 'off-shore' (assembled in Hong Kong under Ullman direction), full batten main at a very good price. This is my 4th year sailing; can anyone give me some info on the pros and cons of a full batten main vs a standard main? We sail on the Delaware River and the Chesapeake Bay, and very rarely off Cape May, NJ., and only in good weather.
