There is a screw in gauge to replace the T Handle on Racor 500 filters

I did that in about 2001 or so. What I found was that the official "Racor" one ONLY reads vacuum. That is what you need to know, BUT, when we went to tropical waters, and everything in the engine room got HOT, it messed up the gauge. To much pressure from the thermal expansion.

I bought a vacuum/pressure gauge to replace the Racor in 2002 and it's been working fine ever since, hot and cold. Just a data point for you.

Install after your primary filter. Google "designated engineer" for a source of a good compound gauge with a drag needle and oil dampening.

It lets you know how your fuel filter is doing. You don't need to guess at it or change it just because "it's time". Also, diesel fuel filters can clog due to water in the fuel that is not visible on the filter. That is, the filter looks fine, but is clogged. Also, as you watch the gauge, it gives you plenty of warning that it is starting to clog.
