We are purchasing a Hunter 40', and the current owner apparently has used it only for living aboard, and knows little about the boat.

Can anyone tell me where the fuel tank is, and any venting? The filler is located at the port quarter.

Also, there doesn't appear to be a pump out for the forward holding tank. Any ideas?

We have a bad Stream Stay furling that needs to be replaced, or removed. Are there any opinions on repairing, or can it just be removed without damage to the forstay.

Can't help with tankage even though I have spent time on the H40. But the Hyde Stream Stay furler is a solid rod, there is no wire forestay. I have just removed my thirty-two year old Hyde and bought a Harken from this site. I am replacing all the standing rigging so had to add a forestay to the mix. Rig-Rite has parts and diagrams for repairing the Hyde. But we have been hearing stories of poor service or no service.

Go with the surveyor as he crawls around the boat. TAKE NOTES.
