What is the best way to do repairs on the fuel tank? I just purchased this boat and have yet to sail her. She is a fixer upper for sure!

What kind of repair? What material is the tank made of? Assuming a leak, is it on the bottom - which tends to be the case? Is it removable? What kind of fuel?

I used a product from JB Weld specifically for fuel tank repair. Put on a decent sized glob, laid a piece of seran wrap over it and "lightly" clamped it down with a couple of wood blocks and a clamp. Dont squeeze it out, just press it down. So far OK. Bob

My new to me boat has issues the seller did not reveal. The most recent one is with the fuel tank/filling system. The “full” system did not work correctly when I filled with diesel. The overflow went into the bilge. I don’t see any easy way to get to the float valve etc. Do I cut a whole in the fiberglass cubby or do I pull the wall of the berth?

If I understand your question correctly, the tank leaked out under the fuel sender? Looks like a snake river sender, does it even work? On our boat we had the same sender with better access, and just before we bought the boat the PO had the fuel polished. The polisher did not re tighten the screws. I found it before refueling as it would have made a real mess. It looks like you could get a short screw driver in there to reseat the sender. If not a right angle drill with a bit. I ultimately replaced our broken sender with a wema and a round gage.

If I remember correctly the only time I removed my fuel sensor I put it back in the wrong orientation. It looked like it could go back in any orientation because the five screws seemed symmetrical. I could smell diesel after the re-placement. I had to re-remove it and put it back in it's original orientation. No smell. It was a SR sender and it didn't work either.
