An earlier article by Rafi regarding "engine dies" got a response from Russell of "Alley Cat". His reply suggested checking the fuel pickup tube in the tank. Great suggestion ! Question is: any suggestion as to how we get the pickup tube out without first dropping it in to the bottom of the tank? Bill

No problem on a 376

The first time we pulled the pickup tube was 1 mile from Block Island and had no choice but to get th engine back on line. If I remember correctly on our 376 it was a simple matter of removing a large hex nut (thank god we had a very large adjustable wrench) and the pickup tube pulled out. We were able to clean it and reinstall in less than 5 minutes and didn't even need to reprime the fuel system. Your system may be different Russell S/V Allie Kat
