fuel tank height for dipstick length

in need of the internal or external height dimension on the 1977 30' hunters' fuel tank. I hear it holds 12 gals. of diesel. If any one has a fairly accurate(within 1 gal.)' working stick would like to hear from you.

Install a Fuel Whistle and forget the stick. You'll never spill another drop. You can get it from the Store on this website.

The installed tank was 20 to 22 gallons depending on who you ask. Aluminum. Tank height is 12". I keep a wood dowell marked with magic markerdespite the fact that I have both electrical and mechanical guages. There should be a mechanical dial guage right on the tank. Not easy to see, but fairly accurate.
