I topped off the fuel (Diesel) to the point that it came out of the overflow drain, which is ALMOST at the highest point of the stren. Now I have this LONG, 4" wide diesel stain running down the stern. ANY ideas how you remove the stain from the fiberglass?? Thanks now if you do. PS..A fuel level gauge would have been a nice cheap addition for hunter.

Don't know that a gauge is going to help.

Jerry: I do not know if a gauge is going to really help that much. The problem with deisel fuel is that it foams up. This happens to us quite often. I think that Davis makes a fuel catcher that you can place over the vent so it does not get in the water. This may be something to try in the future. I would try some Island Girl Pink to clean your stern. Once you get the stain off, seal the gelcoat and use the IG Wax too. This should make any cleanup easier in the future too.

The best product for removing diesel

stains and other types of stain is Collinite hull cleaner. It is available from Boat US. It is the only product that I have found that wipes on and wipes off stains. It is also very gelcoat friendly.
