my engine has quit underway after a day of heavy winds and heavy heeling, I've secured the fuel line once and cleared it of any debri, as the boat has had two previous owners I'm not certain of the attention given to stablelizing the fuel (live in cold, mid atlantic). after adding bio-bore and water stablelizer she has preformed fine until today with winds in the 20 knt range. I'm afraid I have to drain the tank or have it replaced....any ideas on if a replacement can be done or will some facilties (we have good ones) be able to flush the tank? any thoughts would be helpful thanks Baby Grand of Solomons md

Jeff Before you go much further, you may want to try checking the fuel filter. If you have an electric fuel pump, it opens at the bottom. Turn off the fuel line first, of course. Many times Catalina installed the fuel pump BEFORE the fuel filter. If it's like that on your boat, you'll need to clean the filter base screen out, and then re-plumb the hose from the fuel tank to the Racor (or other brand) filter FIRST, then to the fuel pump. All it takes is a little more fuel hose, and is easy to do. Stu
