I am finishing up my first season on a 1985 C30 and am getting ready to winterize. As part of that project I'm replacing the fuel filter. I've read the instructions for bleeding the fuel system on the Torresen site and they say to open the shut-off valve at the tank. I've looked high and low for a picture or description of the valve but no luck. Any suggestions/links would be appreciated. Thanks-Bob

Valve

My C-30 (1984) has a fuel shut off valve on top of the aluminum fuel tank where the hose is connected that leads to the high pressure pump that feeds the injectors. The valve is brass/bronze and is screwed into the tank with a tab for turning fuel off and on, if one wishes. JSwords

Another Hint

One thing that I found useful is that I put an outboard engine type squeeze bulb in my fuel line before the fuel filter. It makes bleeding very simple. I've never opened or closed a shut-off valve, even when changing the fuel filte, and am not even sure if I have one.
