Really need your help as my fuel quanitiy gauge is inop. When I turn on the key, the needdle does from E to less than E rather than advancing above E(empty). It use to work and I have not changed any wiring. Is it the gauge or the transmitter from the tank? Please say it is the gauge! Thanks Rick

Hi Rick, sorry to hear about your situation...

Both of our boats (H28 & P42) have mechanical float type guages, and they have always worked. I take it your boat must have some type of transponder in the tank that sends fuel level to a guage in the cockpit? On my boat, before I start trouble shooting any of its systems, I contact the maker to determine their system component source (in the absence of documentation), then contact that source for advice. Most all electrical systems have fuses or circuit breakers close to the power source to help protect the boat. It could be something that simple. If you find a blown fuse it could be the sign of a symptom that needs to be checked out. Sorry I could not be of more help. Terry

Corrosion?

Terry's advice is right on. Meanwhile the symptom sounds like a bad ground. That could be from a loose wire or corrosion. Pretty easy to troubleshoot IF you have a wiring schematic. Have you called Hunter?
