Anyone know the correct fuel-oil ratio for a 9.8hp 2 cycle mariner engine - I can't quite tell if it's 25:1, 50:1 or 100:1. Also, what sort of preventetive maintenance does one do on a 2 cycle outboard engine?

The ratio you want is 50:1. You can cut that back a bit once it is broken in. As for maintenance... just change the plug once a year and change the lower grear oil also. If you run the engine in salt water make sure you flush with fresh water. That little engine should last a long time.
