I need some help with a fuel leak problem. I have a Yamnar 2GM20F desiel engine. The problem started with a defective fuel filter assembly. Fuel was comming out of the bleed screw. When I pulled the screw out all the threads came out along with it. I receive a warrenty replacement, installed it with no problem, connected the 2 fuel hoses, bleed the engine (which took forever, but that is another story) and got the engine running.OK so what is the problem. Well fuel keeps seaping out of the hose connection bewteen the fuel pump and the fuel filter. Well I said no problem, I replace the hose with another 5/16 hose, and same problem, fuel still seaps out ( even without the enging running). So I change out that hose for a 1/4 inch hose and still fuel seaps out. I even double clamped it and still it leaks. Now I did not replace the fuel filter (as it had only 95 hours on it) but can anyone help out. It almost seems that the fuel pump attempts to keep the fuel line preasureized even when the engine isn't running although I don't hear anything running. Is this true?Second should I have changed the fuel filter. Could it be backing up the fuel causing the problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as it is really &*%$#ing me off.
