Fuel hose size

Going to replace some of the fuel hoses on our M25XPB. The manual says the hose is 5/16” ID, at least at the engine filter. I’m too lazy to pull one off to check (and make a big diesel mess). Anybody done that and remember what size hose they used?

Thanks!

We ordered 50 feet of 5/16" ID for the supply and return. We had about 10 feet left. We also got 5/8" ID for the vent. About 6 feet for the vent.

Thanks. The supply and return (and vent) were done by a PO, but the lines on the engine are leaking at the barbed fittings. Tightening works for a while, but it starts seeping eventually.

If there is enough slack on the hose, cut 1" off of the leaky end and reattach it.

I'm replacing my hoses also. Was told by BETA engines that cheaper hoses get soft inside and the clamps only work for a while and then small amounts of air gets sucked in and create air in your line. Then you have to bleed it. Better to get new hoses.
Glad I noticed this request. I needed to know this " 5/16" ID for the supply and return ".
Jesse you used 40' of hose? :yikes:

That covers the supply and return. They start at the starboard side of the fuel tank, follow the pad for the water heater and then down under the port side under the rear berth in PVC pipes.
