Hey All - Anyone replaced the fuel guage on a C-27 with Atomic Four? It is a magnetic contraption that just refuses to work. Looks like very poor design to me. I removed the in-tank portion six months ago, and it appeared to be in good working order, but I think the top section is just too magnetized to work after 20 odd years. Looking for a direct-connection guage that someone has installed and would recommend. I don't want to go all out on it, as the engine consumes so little gas. I just need to be able to tell when I am down to a quarter tank or so, so I can haul some more gas down to the dock. Thanks in Advance! Rob

easy

I just did it last year on my catalina 20 with the same fuel tank (and engine) as my old 27. You can get a complete sensor and guage from west marine for about 30 bucks. Be careful of what sealant you use on your fuel tank for the sensor or it may dissolve in gas and clog the fuel lines (been there and done that...). To be honest it is about a 1 to 2 hour project.

Thanks Richard

Thanks for the tip Richard! Will go by and check West out tomorrow - can't wait to have a functioning guage!
