The fuel gauge of my C-27, 1982, no longer works. I have not yet determined whether it is the gauge, the sensor in the tank or the wiring. Any recommendations on troubleshooting and does anyone have experience in obtaining or replacing the parts? Any info on what may "typically" break? Thanks

90% of the time(or more) it's the sensor in the tank. Easy fix, I replaced mine last year. You can check it with an ohm meter. Remove the sensor and the resistance across the two terminals should vary from 35 to 240 ohms(aprx.) when the float is moved. The sensors (sending unit) are available at any marine store, West etc. 25 to 30 bucks. Good luck, Ron

Teleflex is the largest supplier of Catalina instruments. Try this link for troubleshooting guide. Hopefully, it is the indicater (available a WM for about $15). If you boat is like mine, it is a PITA to get the sending unit out of the tank.
