Other then maybe tax is there any difference in buying your diesel fuel from a car gas station or marine fuel dock?

I use Jet-A from a local small airport. (A lot of local airports have self-service so it is easy to get) It is more stable and will last a lot longer. I have no idea what the difference in blend is between dock and service station diesel. I do know that in my truck bio diesel blend, which most stations have now, gets less mileage.

Other than the dye which differentiates the road tax charge, there is no difference except the marketing which implies additives included which, if done at all, are made at the refinery, not the distribution point.

Don's right, your boat, your wallet, you choice. Transferring fuel is sometimes a hassle for some, try Google: Super Siphon.

As I understand it, Jet A is kerosene w/additives to prevent congealing at altitude (low OAT). I would be concerned about a lack of lubrication of the injection pump and other parts.

Do you use Jet A in both your truck and boat?

FWIW... My boat is some distance from a fuel dock so I purchase 'off road diesel' and carry it to the boat.
