We just bought a 1996 280. We splashed her this past week, and went to the lake yesterday for our 1st sail on her. The diesel started right up, which was a big relief. We got the sails on, and went through the boat with the previous owner, getting familiar with the various systems on it. While doing this, the diesel quit. After 30 minutes or so of playing with it, it was determined that we had water in the fuel. During the process of draining the tank, and bleeding the system, I noticed that this boat has a Racor 110A fuel filter/separator. I was going to order another spin-on element for it from West Marine, when I noticed this model was listed for gasoline. I checked the owner's manual that came with the boat, and it shows the 110A Racor filter as the one that came with it, so neither previous owner changed it. Is there much difference between a gasoline filter and the diesel filter? Should I change it out to one of the diesel models, and if so, do I get one with a primer pump or without? Thanks in advance for your help..Jim
