New to me Hunter 28. Fuel filter on engine calls for a Yanmar 55710, which I believe is a 10 micron filter. Also, have a Racor filter between fuel tank and engine. Model is a 110 and manual says to use an R11S which is a 2 micron. Is this typical? Thanks

Generally the filter on the engine will have a finer element than the primary filter. The Racor model 110 can be used as a primary or secondary filter in that it can work on the suction or pressure side of the fuel pump. A 10 micron element is available for the model 110. I would opt for that instead of a 2 micron.

The racor would be the primary filter. I too would not use a 2 micron there. The S in that filter model stands for "secondary", that's why it's 2 micron.

Model 110 is a cartridge, not a spin-on. Yeah, use the 10. I have the 3YM20.

The Racor filter ID convention extends to the Racor 110 cartridge filters (per Stu's post) - S is 10 micron, T is 10 micron.
