Fuel Filter

I have a Hunter T-2 30 footer Hunter 1979 ,I am asking where the primary filter is located ? I know where the one is on the motor.

Depends on what type of engine you have

I have a 1979 30' Hunter and the engine is a Yamar YSM 12.

Start with you secondary filter on the engine and trace the fuel hose back to the fuell tank. If you do not see it, you do not have one. On my Hunter, I had a closed filter that took a cartride that was next to the fuel tank. I cut this out of the system, due the leaks, and replaced with the small Racor with water seperator. Not a big job and the filter was around $100 +/-. This filter has a spin-off cartride which is easy to replace. See the filter next to this post on the right.

Normally it is close to the tank, but you never know where it was located or relocated. It may be something like Ian's attached photo or it may look more like a spin on oil filter.

Just trace you fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine, it should be somewhere in line.

I just replaced my Fram pirmary fuel filter. It's in the same locker where the tank is located. You can't see it by simply looking into the locker. You have to go inside the locker and take a closer look. It was fun for me. I'm 6'3". It's not too bad really. But take a close look in there. There should be a shut off valve between the fuel tank and the fuel filter.

I removed the old filter ,it was very dirty.I have a t-2 1979 hunter 30.Where can I get a replacement filer?
