I have been using a NAPA 3390 as my secondary fuel filter. I was wondering what the filtration size was, so I called my local NAPA store. To my surprise, I just learned that it is 10 microns. This isn't doing any good as my primary is also 10 microns. The Universal 298854 is 2 microns...Does anyone know if any of the other substitute models Purolator, Fram, AC, Motorcraft are 2 microns?

That's interesting

Where did you get the specification for the Universal filer? I couldn't find that anywhere, and I couldn't even find the 3390 on NAPA's web site..

information...

the information I posted was obtained by calling 2 different local NAPA stores. They were able to look up the filter on their system. The Universal information was obtainned by calling Torresen Marine. I have not had any problems during the last 2 years and change this filter annually. I'm just not getting the filtration I thought I had. Is 10 microns good enough at the secondary filter or do most go down to 2 microns? What do you think?

I'm not an expert, but...

...I will look into it, since I use the NAPA filters, too. I don't change every year anymore - I think I've been throwing away a lot of good filters. I'm shooting for 100 hours on a secondary, and every other year or so on the primary. I look at the primary bowl every year, and if it looks really, really clean, I leave the filter. Note that I installed a brand new fuel tank eight years ago, and I haven't gotten a load of bad fuel, or an algae bloom yet; I use a biocide annually.
