So I decided to go down to the boat to get the jib so that I could take it to the sail maker.
The sail needed some patching on the sunshielding and some stitching.
When I got to the boat I found that my house bank was crapped out. It had very little power. Come to find out my two year old batteries have some dead cells. It is already time for new batteries. All I can figure is that there was a defect with one of the batteries and the cell died quickly since they had water and were maintained well. At least there was warranty left on them!
Finally got the jib to the sail maker. It was a good thing that I took it in because it needed a few more things. Cost to repair isn't bad, but slightly more than I thought it would be.
Hopefully I will get hauled out in 5 weeks. I think that it will happen (let's hope that it goes smoothly).
I also had to renew the dinghy registration. Lovely, more money!
Oh yeah, btw...my insurance went up $60 a year. I am guessing it was because of Sandy but it didn't hit where I keep my boat and I haven't had any claims on my insurance. I guess the rest of the east coast is footing the bill for the North Atlantic area as well.
It just seems that I keep getting hit in the wallet. Every time I turn around the boat gets me or something else gets me. Uncle Sam keeps on taxing the crap out of us as well.
I love that everything gets more expensive in this economy but our pay checks get slimmer. Fun times! Blah!

You will forget all about the money the next time you are out on a beautiful afternoon with a good wind and smooth seas! (especially if you are with someone you love other than the boat....LMAO)
