I have a leak in the front hatch of my hunter 27. Is there any place to purchase a factory gasket? Or what other methods of repair could you recomend?

Thrifty Mariner, Pompanette

Both carry the Bomar 2092 - a current, similar version of the old hatch. That's not to say that they have a part for the original, but I would start there. Both have given forum members good support when replacing the hatches. David Lady Lillie

rebed it

I popped mine out by removing the screws, cleaned the opening and the hatch and used marine caulk not 5200 to rebed it. I also removed the plastic window part out of the frame and rebed that with black 5200. Not a drop drips from the florida rain since.

Depends

If it's leaking under the frame, I would pull and rebed the whole thing. If it's the foam gasket that is the problem, Pompannette(the mfgr) is higher than hell. Dont know bout Thrifty which is another good source. BUT read in either Cruising World or maybe on here(go to archives) about someone using that insulation with one sticky side for windows and doors. Said it stopped the leaks. For the price diff, it's a no-brainer. GOOD LUCK
