Frig control not turning

I have a 2001 Beneteau 311 and the control knob on the frig does not turn. It shows numbers from 0 to 7, but does not turn. I am afraid to put a wrench to it but might have to. Anybody have this issue?? Or have suggestions? Thanks

If it doesn't turn anyway, why not try? It should have just a little resistance to turning. Maybe the contacts have corroded together, in which case you'd need a new one anyway.

Had the same problem when I purchased my 343 couple years ago. The control was totally corroded. I replaced it and it lasted about 18months before it rusted again. ( The frig stays powered up continuously). On the second replacement, I sprayed CRC anticorrosive liberally on the inside of the control and make a point to turn the knob once a month to keep it working. The replacement control knob / thermostat for my Isotherm frig costs approximately $75. You would think that the thing would at least last a few years.
