Beneteau Oceanis 390 Rosslyn Bay
recently acquired a Beneteau Oceanis 390 a 1990 model while on passage under motor & sail smoke started coming out of engine vents, motor is a perkins prima 50hp went down below and took off the front engine cover, smoke soon dispersed, battery light on the ignition console had come on,thought the alternater had died.Shut the engine down to investigate further through the port side access panel found a melted blob of wiring coming out of the loom to the sensor at the bottom of the 1st diesel filter.tried to start motor no lights on the engine console,no engine start.checked for power at the key switch, there was power but was not transferring to the rest of the console.couldn't seem to bypass the ignition key switch to power up the engine console.checked the fuse.all the other house electrics seem fine.can anyone piont a finger to what is happening.does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model boat?
very frustrated dahar
