So I'm leaning towards fitting a new fridge into my boat.

With something like this - ignore sizes etc just an example of what I am thinking and not the exact one.

I'd like to know if anyone has done it?

The reason I am considering it is that my insulation has got wet behind the glass. I have considered cutting the glass and removing it all then replacing but I figure the pain of going through all this is just not worth it when it could potentially happen again so I am better off with a self contained unit.

So - any people want to weigh in if they have done something like this on their boat?

that is a very good line of refers you can't go wrong with it and i think they are around the corner from you so you could purchase it from who ever and ask for customer will call ...you may have to pay sales tax being that you are in fl but maybe not if you purchase it from the vendor out of state and they do have a very strong warranty...along with the fact that they perform very well

From an efficiency standpoint, you are probably better off with this fridge.
But, having a front & top loading fridge is really great.
So, it's a trade off.
As are most things in life

That is a nice looking installation. I do have a question as to what have you done with the space to the left of the fridge. Re you planning to use it for storage or it is just unused?

Marco I'm planning to use it for more storage space just haven't got there yet - cutting out all the old insulation / fiberglass and mounting the new fridge was enough for me for a while :)

I was initially going to build in an ice maker in that space as I thought the fridge would install further right but I encountered a rib where I really didn't want one so had to move left 3 extra inches which was a real pain
