Fridge/Freezer adjustment

Good day,

I have an Icebox with a plate in it and a fridge. It all runs on a single compressor.

I just purchased the boat and the previous owner had a new compressor installed as the old one was no longer working. On the plus side, the icebox definitely freezes things and keeps things cold, however the fridge doesn't seem to get cold. The plate at the back is slightly condensated but it is not cold.

There is no adjustment I can see in the fridge. I have an InkBird ITC-1000F controller for temp under the sink however It seems that pressing any button on it doesn't do anything. I can't adjust temp or anything with it.

Is there a way to adjust to compressor or something to send cooling to the fridge? It would be nice if both worked.

Thanks!

You have a separate freezer and fridge, with each containing a holding plate, but both plates are connected to one compressor?

Or is there a compressor connected to two plates, and you are only asking about one of the compressors?

The Inkbird is a thermostat. I can't read what it says, but is it set to the temperature you want the box to be? You can find the manual for it online.

I have two plates and one compressor. That’s how Beneteau designed this system. I understand this may be problematic for most owners.

Anyway, the thermostat has a reading but pushing buttons doesn’t change anything. Seems to display the current temp and that’s about it. Sensor seems to be in the fridge.

Thanks!

OK, so the two holding plates likely contain different solutions for different temps and are plumbed in series to a single compressor.

It seems your freezer holding plate is freezing, but your reefer plate is not.

The thermostat sensor is located in the reefer compartment. What temperature is it reading?

The Inkbird display has an LED light in the top left corner that comes on when the set temp is below the measured temp. This turns on the compressor.

Does this LED come on when the compressor turns on and turn off when the compressor turns off?

Is the compressor cycling, or running full-time?

The Inkbird manual can be found with google. It will tell you how to set it up and operate it. We don't have the Inkbird, but do have two very similar to it. On ours, the setpoint it is programmed to is displayed by pressing the up arrow key once.

Find out what your Inkbird's current setpoint is, and if it is lower than the value being displayed.

If the setpoint is low, but never reached, then perhaps the system is low on refrigerant, or the reefer cold plate has lost its solution.
