Friction hinges on '92 Beneteau hatch and ports

Has anyone tried to fix the hinges on older Beneteau's where the friction hinge no longer has any friction. Adjusting does not work as the inner material has deteriorated. It appears to have been a neoprene (?) tube about 3/4" long, 3/8" outside diameter and 3/16" inside dia. Probably metric equivalents.

If you are talking about the pneumatic arms that hold the hatch open… those can be ordered on line from a number of places .. do the Google thing.

If you are referring to the Lewmar deck hatches and cabin portlights, Check the Lewmar website for rebuild parts and You Tube for videos on how to rebuild & tighten so that they will stay open at a given set point.

Goiot supports their old hatches and ports - I've spoked to them about my almost 40 year old hatches and they still provide support.... I wish all companies had such support!
