Gordon: Sorry to see you go, you have really helped those of us with older engines. I've posted the message below about a month ago, and didn't get an answer, so I thought I'd try again. Is a freshwater cooling kit still available for a 2QM 15 Yanmar of about 1980 vintage? Called Sendur, but they said they no longer made the kits, just the heat exchanger portion, so I would have to make up the brackets, pulleys, and new water pump system to make it work. Does Yanmar still make it? Thanks

2QM15 cooling

You are right. The Sendure conversion is no longer available nor is the Yanmar. With the engine out of production for 20 years, they probably figured that all that were to be converted were. I thought I had a line on some parts but it did not pan out.

Sendur Conversion Kit Yanmar 2QM15

Jim I installed one of the fresh water Sendur conversion kits on my 1980 Hunter 33 with the 2QM15 engine. It has worked for nearly twenty years and has provided hot water for the boat with a six gallon Raritan hot water heater that works off the fresh water cooling loop used in the kit. As I recall the only custom parts are the heat exchanger and the bracket that mounts the raw water cooling pump. It appears the bracket should be sized correctly because it bolts to the engine block and sets the correct distance for the belt that operates the raw water pump pulley wheel , the generator and engine power take off. The raw water pump and belt are standard parts.
