Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, but have had my Catalina 22 for 29 years! (1981- hull 10028) I am thinking about adding a fresh water washdown since I am now on a mooring. Has anyone done this? I see there are kits, and am wondering what you used for the fresh water supply tank/bladder.

Thanks!

If I was going to install a freshwater washdown system (to avoid the salty residue left after washdown with sea water and subsequent corrosion) I would access how much water you will need for each wash and number of wash cycles before refilling the tank or bladder. If your current freshwater tank is short of that requirement then determine where you would install a new bladder/tank and one that will fit there. One freshwater tank/bladder manufacturer is in the link below followed by 2 links on installing a boat washdown system. OR buy a portable 4.7- 13 gallon water tank with submersible pump that is powered by a 12 volt plug like the Big Kahuna Portable Shower for Boats as shown in the last link.
