I've a Pearson 89' 39-2 & I am so tired of water in the bilge, which should be dry. I have confirmed it is ftesh water. I've replaced several connections (it is the original grey flex tubing and connectors) and in just a month or ywo it's leaking again. I can turn off the pressure pump after every use and it stays dry. So, I am considering replacing the system as a whole with clear reinforced poly line with doubled stainless hose clamps & brass fittings.

Any one pulled and replaced their fresh water system? What troubles did you experoence with pulling the new line? Has the new sustem been leak tight?

I really would like a dry bilge before we retire & head south.

Yes, I just did mine. I bought a reel of 50 feet of tubing off the internet (go2marine) best price i could find. Pretty easy, just time consuming. I also replaced my hot water heater at the same time.

Funny you should mention the water heater. I am in the process of replacing the heating element, thermostat, and anoide. The thing is only 5 yrs. old but shorted out, tripping our 110 breaker. Everthing was good down to the heater itself thank goodness. Replaced the pressure pump, the water filter unit, the electric bilge pump of course, so might as well go for broke.

Glad to hear it's not to involved.

That reel was less than $40 plus s/h, but when I joined go2marine they gave me a $10 coupon. Pretty good deal compared to other places. 1/2" hose, drinking safe, I have the model number in my files if you need it, but an internet search on "drinking water hose" will find the right material for you, that's what I did, or just look in a WM catalog.

I think pulling the lines would be easy. The hard part might be making the connections at the faucet, where one might want to shrink down to the size of a 6 year old to get in there. Good time to look at the setup... and figure if additional fittings might be warranted for winterization.
