I just launched my 320 and noticed that the bilge ran every 10 mins or so for a short burst. I did some checking and found that the connections from both the water tanks are leaking slighty. What I could not figure our is how this tubing is connected. It looks like compression fittings but the connectors are smooth, meaning the are not shaped like a nut or knurled. How do these things work? I was hoping I could just tighten them up but it looks more complicated than that.

You would probably find the answer to your question by posting it on the C-320 website. It's a great resource.

Plumbing help

If his fittings are standard from the Catalina factory, they are probably not in any way unique to the C320. I would not specifically target the C320 Website, although it's a good resource to include, but he should also look at all the Catalina information resources from the C30 on up. I'm surprised this forum hasn't produced results yet. If I were at my boat, I'd take a look at how mine work.

the answer......

I asked my marina to check this out and these are "whale" fittings. They are push fit with a release connection. Never saw anything like this before but new to boating so much to learn. Anyhow, the lesson to be learned here is that the fitting might have had some dirt in it and with all my fiddling the dirt was dislodged and it is no longer leaking. I will keep my eye on it but for now I am happy.

Add on?

I'm guessing the Whale fittings are not standard and were added at some point. I have heard of them. Glad you got it figured out

Fittings

If you have problems with the fittings, separate them where they join with a small screw driver. Then to get them totally separated and the line off, remove horseshoe type washer.

plumbing leaks

The plumbing is factory installed and is compresion fittings with a snap ring under a cover. My 320 leaks A Lot, same problem . Figured out after a few replacements the hot water softens the tube and it comes loose. it eventually came completely out and sent water everywhere. I'm trying to find new fitting of a different material. anyone have any Ideas?
