Fresh water leak

Alan, Is water collecting on port or starboard side. Is your water tank completely empty. My next step would be to use play dough or similar to create a temp dam along edges of bilge to identify what direction it's coming from. Once that's determined it will limit the possibilities. Keep in mind that your fresh water lines, water pump and water heater are all under the starboard settee. Finally put towel over floor board to detect water from above. Good luck with your hunt. Rain Water

Check to see if the control panel is leaking water into the areas alongside the engine bilge which flows forward to the main bilge. I had the problem on our 28.5 and fixed it by re-bedding the engine control panel which is on a vertical surface of the starboard sail locker. Also had a small rain water leak at the swim ladder mounting plates till I resealed that. Of course your newer model may be significantly different; these are just typical problem areas that can go unnoticed.

When it rains it leaks

Alan, If you are sure there is no fresh water on the boat, then, the source of the water is outside. In my previous post I suggested useing pla-dough or similar (modeling clay, plumbers putty) to create dams on the hull around the bilge where the water is collecting. This will trap water above the bilge in the direction of the leak. Then place a towel on the floorboard above that bilge compartment to see if its leaking from the ports directly above that area. Next remove the larger of the two trim pieces at the top of the compression post and line the inside with paper towels to catch water. Then use hose or wait for weather to isolate the area that is leaking. Good hunting! Dennis W. S/V FullSailed 1999 Hunter 310
