Freezer Can Not Freeze

I have a Beneteau Oceanis43 which is 3 years old. I owned it from new and from the day I took delivery the deep freeze has not performed. I know other owner in Australia that are having the same problem. I have had 3 fridge mechanics look at it and they all have different opinions.

Philip, for those of us that are not familiar with the Oceanis 43, what is the manufacturer and model of your fridge/deep freeze? Also please share what the technicians had to tell you regarding your freezer.

There is no make on this freezer. It is a top loader custom made 65lt box that is fitted in a bench top next to the fridge. The compressor unit is fitted under the stove. The box and the fitting of the unit has been built by Beneteau. As for the fridge mechanics, the first one said that the thermostat was in correct. He replaced it and it got a little colder but it still could not keep frozen food frozen. The second one said that there was no insulation around the box. After fitting a inspection hole I found the insulation to be 45mm thick. The last one calculated out the size of the box and said that the compressor and the freezer plate was to small and is in the process of quoting me to replace them.

A crasy question:
Are you sure to have a freezer ?
Beneteau sold boat with a fridge at the same position ( Our 2007 model)
It reaches nearby a little below 0°C , but not enough to freeeze well.
But this is e fridge!

Hello JR,

It is not a craze question and you are properly right, it is a fridge. When the yacht was specified from the agent it was listed as a Ice Box. At that time I took a ice box to be a deep freeze as I know an ice box to be an Esky and you use ice to keep it cool. I have now come to the conclusion that I need to turn it into a deep freeze and upgrade the compressor and freezer plate.
