Letterman , the only problem with that is it won't
hold against any pressure. But if he packed that wax around the shaft and then sewed a piece of fabric around the wax and lashed the ends tight and then worked the wax into the cloth he could have a water tight boot.

Dan, far too many people here don't seem to
understand the meaning of trust. Patrick has been dealing with this man for a couple of weeks now, the paper work is moving along slowly but it is moving. When I bought my boat It was with the understanding that it would be delivered to my house. The deal was done in late November and we made preparation for a place to put the boat. The temperature dropped way below freezing and December came and went and so did January, but no boat came to my house....Because the people at the marina where I bought the boat were scrambling to haul and winterize the boats that they had to protect for owners. I understood and waited and in early February they delivered. Last week I worked for a man that I have worked for in the past he owes me about 1800 dollars. Next week I will go back and do some more work. Am I concerned about getting paid? Not at all. I trust the man.

Ross, I suspect you trust yourself, not those who from an outside perspective have taken advantage of you. If you were unable to make your rent and put food on the table, I bet you'd have a very different opinion about that $1800. If it were 3 months lost out of the prime of your sailing season, you'd be less understanding of delays in delivery. Trust is easy when there are no consequences. And being careful is not necessarily the same as being distrustful.

thanks for the info on temp fix for the leaks. I have cotton batting if needed. I will get the toiletbowl wax ring and try to pack it in the gland. Will also check the threads on nut and shaft and any existing packing, if any. Ross i could not get redirected to the constrictor not site. If you don't mind i am interested for having web address. You guys have been great! And this is no spoof, or bullshit. Sometimes real life can be harder to believe than fiction. Got in the van to test drive and diagnos the problem, it started fine, thenonly went 20ft and died. Could'nt get it started, so i towed it to a friend auto garage. I suspect fuel delivery problem, will find out tomorrow. The pork loins and chicken turned out wonderful-melt in your mouth tender. We all went back for seconds after a few hours. Another question, the transom on the morgan has a pretty good andle to it. Will the tilt pin on the motor be enough to ofset the angle and alow it to be mostly verticle? or, do i have to make a wedgr to mount under the bracket? Patrick

Phil, I was taught very early in life about
exposure. I know how much I can afford to risk and I know that experience with a person counts. So the 1800 outstanding is just the lastest work that spans 25 years with this man and well more than 100,000 in bills paid. When you live from pay check to pay check life is quite different.
