move it to sails call?
i have always mostly reviewed and rarely posted to "ask all sailors" never been to "sails call" forum. If i am doing something wrong, please tell me. Prioritiation NO.1 Get the boat dried out. Fix all soarces of water ingress. There is an openning in the hull to deck joint needing 5200. Plug all thru hulls. Fix rudder post somehow--looking for any and all advice on this mater. Wasn't leaking before i scraped off barnicles/muscles. Now what, i am affraid of just putting pipe wrench on nut-might get worse. Eventually i will haul boat and remove all but neccessary thru hulls and glass over the holes. Then replace the esential ones; engine intake, head output, and sink drains output. blast and scrape bottom, sand prime and paint entire exterior. I have copies of documentation, ariginal loan paperwork-owner bought it for 21,400$ in 1987, financed it for 10 years and i have paperwork for satisfaction of lien dated 1998. So he paid off boat. its 1974 model, not 76. I truely appreciate all the info/advice i have gotten on this website. Please tell me if I am doing it wrong. The comments and encouragements are part of the motivation that keep me going. This morning i am spent. My back arms chest hurt. My hands are so cut up from scapeing the bottom that i have to use different fingers to "one finger" the keyboard. Gonna take a break today. My dad is comming over to have me fix his old van, some break. Gonna throw some pork tenderloins and a whole chicken on the smoker soon, i have been investing all my time and thought to getting this boat ready and deliverring it here that everything else has been englected. Hell i have'nt even shaved in the past 4 days-wow, there's alot of grey in there. Better hurry with the boat before i get to old to do it. my primary concern is the rudder post nut leaking-probably the reason for the boat filling with water. as always, thanks, patrick
