I have a Seldon main fourling system on my 1999 Hunter 410 and have a problem with keeping my telltales in proper working order. They either kurl-up and don't fly straight anymore or come off alltogether. Also I had the logo on the sail come loose which prevented the main sail from coming out. I had to glimb up the mast and pulled out the pieces from the logo ( h 410 ) in order to free the sail. Has any one had similar problems and how can they be prevented? I look forward to your replies.

My suggestion is to rip the decals off. One of the ways they save money on the made-in-HongKong OEM UK sails is by using a cheap adhesive to bond the decals to the sail. Sheesh. And EVERYBODY with a furling main is having them come loose in short order. If you leave the decals on there's a potential that they'll foul the furling slot. (Best case scenario is that they'll sit up there and flap a lot, thus disturbing the laminar flow of the sail.) The first time I took my main in for a recut, my sailmaker reglued the decals for me, free of charge, and installed wool telltales, also free of charge. I suppose that's your other option. I'd be hesitant, however, to pay a sailmaker to reglue what amounts to free advertising for Hunter, especially when Hunter couldn't be bothered to do a proper job with the decals in the first place.
