Found my boat, just can't tell which one.....

Found my 1980 H33...I just don't know which one it is in the pile...there were over 400 boats in these slips prior to Katrina...and the big casino boat at the top was 90 degrees to where it is now...we assume over 20 foot storm surge, 125mph winds...hard to stay tied to the slips in those conditions.

If you ever make it up here to Vancouver, I'd be happy to take you out on my boat. Get your "sailing fix" on mine while yours is getting repaired. That goes for anyone else out there that lost or had their boats damaged in the hurricane.-Rob

Sorry about your boat Jim, after seeing the photos of Oak Harbor, Southshore, NO Municipal Marinas on TV I had no hope for my boat at Madisonville. They recorded 117 MPH winds at Madisonville but only 10-12 feet of storm surge. We were lucky and only 3 boats were sunk in our marina. Let me know if I can help.

My Boat in Oak Harbor, Slidell

I was one of the lucky ones. My 35' Coronado "project boat" came through with very little damage at all. One boat that pushed against us from behind knocked out the aft cabin window. The boat next to us had his dock "finger" completely washed away, so he wasn't tied to anything anymore and pushed up against our starboard side, tearing off the rub rail. The rest of the damage was only cosmetic "rub rashes" from the various boats and docks. We had planned on sanding down the hull and replacing all of the windows anyway, so we were very fortunate. Most of our neighbors at the marina were not nearly as fortunate.
