hi folks, again thanks for advise 3 weeks ago. i believe i found point of entry of frsh water leak. where rub rail travels to bow of boat i found on each side of boat a half inch by two inch space. this is directly under anchor roller plate.i sealed with silocone and now have a dry bilge. im confident that this was the leak... who would have thought? keeping fingers crossed. now on to next project.. re-routing water from shower not to enter bilge but to go directly overboard... thanks alans

Good luck with the anti-silicon people ;) but with the shower...most likely, the shower floor is below the waterline...so draining it overboard is going to require new laws of gravity?

hi brian, by using a shower sump pump and plumbing directly into sink discharge will avoid bilge. alans

You sound like a man on a mission.

I don't know if you are trying to get rid of humidity or bilge odors but take into consideration that most likely you have stagnant water sitting inside the crevices between the sole liner and the interior of the hull.

Keep us informed on the shower sump project

This has come up among us H340 owners. Our shower drain dumps into a "pre-bilge" just aft of the main (deeper) bilge sump, then through a 1 in. hole into the sump for pumping overboard with the main bilge pump. The 'T' into the sink drain has been suggested, but I'm wondering about backflow up into the sink before the water has a chance to seek its level via the thruhull, which on the 340 is deep, about 18 in off centerline. You could be our tester!

hi ed, my bilge is the same set-up as yours.to have water and hair from shower going into bilge was just a cost issue on the foolish part of hunter. ive read that this is not a big project. ill search archives for more info but if pump is of correct size it should move water out of boat. regards alans
