Catalina 14.2 Fresno/Millerton
I'm new at small boat sailing, in small i mean this 14.2 boat my son just bought. I found a round bar with a screw thread at one end and a rubber knob at the other, it seems to go no where on this boat, so can someone tell me what it is. I can send pictures if needed.

2 1/2 to 3 foot long pipe shape with threaded screw on one end and ruibber floating knob on other.

Thank you

Sounds like a tiller extension so you can control the tiller while sitting on the high side of the boat while heeled.

Thank you must be, prior to someone replacing the tiller handle with a wood handle. Thanks for your replies..

Look for a threaded

hole in the tiller handle close to the end. Sure sounds like a tiller extension, to allow you to move around a little. Is probably not the tiller itself.

Take a look at the Catalina website - catalinayachts.com, and look at the pictures for the 14.2 to see how the tiller extension is used. Best of luck. I'm sure you and your son will love every new experience on the water!
