Found a few - Your advice please!

In my long search for a long keel boat I have come across a few but am finding them hard to research. Most people know my parameters by now so can you give me advice on the following:-Seamaster 27Contest 29Haven Clasas 27Halcyon 27Great Dane 28Any advice or reports that you have heard would contribute. The Contessa idea proved not to have enough head room unfortunately but we did look into it so thanks! Any advice on this greatfully received as usualThanks again S and M

PBO, YM reprints & web sites

Mandy, I'm sure there are reviews of those boats (I recognize almost all of them & I'm not a UK sailor!) so I'd suggest you work thru the PBO, YM etc. web sites and see if they can provide you summaries. You'll be looking for 'used boat' reviews - what we in the U.S. call 'Classic Plastics' - so that design & construction flaws have surfaced, alternative fixes identified, etc.Alternatively, what about owners groups & clubs? Have you done a web search on those designs? My impresion - and I could surely be incorrect; I'm not here regularly - is that this site has far more vanilla-flavored U.S. sailboat owners, while the boats you are zeroing in on are quite unusual to most American sailors.Congrats on narrowing the field; nice to see you're making progress. (If you hit the lottery, buy a slightly used Vancouver 27 or 28 and be done with it, OK?)JackJack
