On my H29.5, there is a large tinted portlight forward of the mast and just aft of the hatch above the v-berth. Last weekend I noticed two of the screws holding the portlight were not tightened. They would not hold when I tried to screw them back in. The result is that the on that one side, the portlight seal has lost its integrity, and there is play in the portlight. What is the best way to deal with this situation? I hate to take the whole portlight off to re-seal it unless it is absolutely necessary. Also, what is the best sealant to use?

Beckson recommends silicone

Just resealed the ports on my 34 and Beckson recommends only 100% silicone for their ports. I called 3M and they recommend their 101. I tried both and time will tell which holds up better, but it seemed easier and less messy to use the silicone. Bruce
