Hi, I am currently putting the final touches on the finish, and replacement of the panels and trim that make up the forward sink and head in the oday 26. As I was taking it apart, i took pictures of it so i would know how to put it back together but deleted them off the camera memory. I thought that would be ok since I had them on the home computer. But my wife thought i had them on my laptop, and she did not transfer them to our new home computer, so those are lost forever.

So I am hoping that I can get some pictures of the area so I will know how to piece it back together. I especially need pics of the floor in the head, The way the vbirth goes together (especially the little lift out and cubby hole areas, and inside the cabinet of the sink, and the shelf . Fortunately I labeled about half of the trim pieces.

And, I have not been able to find a source for the plastic/rubber strips that line some of the edges of the carpet, where it meets the main bulkhead for instance.

Finally, it would be cool to see some things that people have done to the interior that they loved, such as adding a shelf, or cubby, or changed the material used. It might also be fun to see some things that people have done that didn't turn out ok.

Thanks
Keith

Keith,

I will try to take some pictures this weekend, but I may not get to boat.

In meantime, search archives for Appleman rebuild and that guy before him who gutted the 26 and rebuilt it. And there are other pictures under the 25, you just have to do some research.

GRANDPA
An elderly man suffered a massive heart attack. The family drove wildly to get him to the emergency room.
After what seemed like a very long wait, the ER Doctor appeared, wearing his scrubs and a long face. Sadly, he said, "I'm afraid he is brain-dead, but his heart is still beating."
"Oh, Dear God," cried his wife, her hands clasped against her cheeks with shock!
"We've never had a Democrat in the family before"

i just spent about an hour trying to find it by searching, but no luck. I have been able to find applemans post, but not about the rebuild. It looks like the post archives go back to 06. He doesn't have pics of the rebuild in his album. I need some specific pix of the way the vbirth is put together at the forward bulkheads, those little cubbies, and of the sink. I especially need to see how the little lift out area is put together.
I can prob figure it out, but it would go faster if i had some pix
thanks for your help

Kieth, I took a couple of pictures this evening. Not sure if it helps. Let me know.

BTW, I would consider RBone's offer to use his liner as templates. The 25 is only a few inches shorter than the 26 and the interior is basically the same. It sure beats starting from scratch to make your own pattern. I thew ours out about a year later. They were so badly mildewed, that even though I had them sealed in heavy contractors bags, I just didn't see the need to keep them. (Throwing something out is a big deal for a NE farmer).

That's a beautiful job you did on your boat. My vanity was half rotted out from the leaking chainplate and I decided not to rebuild it. Instead I might use the space for sail storage. As of now I'm thinking I'll be using the boat mostly day sailing and some overnighting.
