We've had the new combo login/profile database in place for a week now. I found a few bugs with your help - thanks! Now I'd like to hear from anyone who is experiencing problems with their login. You can post here but I'd prefer you contact me at phil at sailboatowners.com. Please include your real name and your user name. As I said, this was an imperfect process because the data was... well, let's just say it was less than perfect. The profiles and the login didn't have common id numbers, there were multiple records and little or no reasonable way to tell which one you were using. So in the process of removing duplications we could have combined your new login with an old profile or some combination of the above. Anyway, most of it can be fixed so let me know if we can help.

Phil, There is still an occassional malfunction.

I have a few times written a reply and clicked on submit and gotten a "Web server DNA not working" and of course my post disappears into cyberspace. A few minutes later everything is normal.

Yes, we've been experiencing some instability this week

That's been my day, so far. We found a couple likely suspects and so far it looks better -- knock on silicon. Thanks for your patience!

Ross, me, too, but I've figured out

that if it "disappears" just hit the back button on your browser, usually brings the message right back, cut & paste it into wordpad and hold it for a few minutes and try again. That works for me whenever there's a hiccup and sometimes it's not at Phil's end, but rather at our "service provider" -- there's an oxymoron for ya! :)

Has this hapened on short posts?

Makes me wonder if the posting action has been part of the problem.

Stu and phil, It usually involves a paragraph or a bit

more and when it goes it is gone!. Never happens when I am being silly only when I have taken time to write with some detail.

Mine has disappeared

Hi Phil, Haven't looked at my profile for months but, in view of the recent upheaval I did. My Name and ID remained but boat details and sailing CV had vanished, this may have occurred for others. I re-entered some boat details but saw nowhere to include info on experience. I often look at other people's experience to gauge the veracity of their postings. I expect they do the same for me. Any chance of having my/our details back or have they gone forever? Great site much valued nonetheless. Don.

Update

I have been a regular for many years - so long that I have no idea what my user id and password is to access my user profile. My email address has changed several times since I originally registered. My computer logs me in at each visit, but how do I now update my profile
