Forked River State Marina

Anyone know how the boats faired at the State Marina?

I hope my boat is still in slip 83 "Loose Ends"

If anyone checks on their boat or has any info please let us all know.

I hope we all made it through safe.

Silver Cloud Marina

We just returned from checking our boat at Silver Cloud Marina in Forked River. Our boat is in a temporary, protected slip across from the NJ state bouy tender boats. At 11:00 AM the wind was West at about 15-20 kn. It was high tide and the water was up to the level of the parking lot but had not come across Bay Ave or Route 9. I saw no damaged boats, no downed trees, no ripped canvas or torn sails anywhere along the river. We drove up to Southwinds, where our slip is located, and all of the boats on the river we fine and without any visible damage. Looks like we did OK.

A friend just sent me a message at 1:45 pm from the state marina and said all looked ok. I think we got real lucky!

just came back from Seaview Marina.. everyone survived and i didn't see any real damage.. it was blowing hard while there.. we rolled up someone's headsail that was flapping free and fixed a few lines that snapped on a few boats.. but i am just simply astonished that the marina and boats look the same as when i left.

We checked on our boat yesterday afternoon at Southwinds. We came through with no damage. We did see a couple of power boats with torn canvas both hauled out and along the river. Around 5pm the river was up to about 6" from the top of the docks and some of the dock steps were flapping loose with the waves.

All fairly minor stuff. We dodged the bullet.

At the Forked River South Town Dock the water came over the top onto the road which means it was maybe 1 to 1 1/2 foot higher than the highest I have seen it before. At least since 1993 which I didn't see directly. I was tending my friend's Watkins at Tides End and aside from rubbing the poles wee bit because we left the lines a bit slack for surge there wasn't much to talk about. My boats are out of the water or sold, so it was especially easy for me.

My wife did have a small potted plant blown over, but was able to get it back upright.
