Bill,
Why don't you just tie a rope to your Jib halyard shackle and run it up to the top, stretch it out along side of your fore stay, mark it, and pull it down and measure the rope? You only need a rough idea of which furler luff to buy, which is probably an FF-2 or an FF-3. I'm not sure which. I have a fractional rig O'Day 222 with an FF-2 and I had to cut quite a bit of the luff off mine to get it to fit my stay properly.

We just finished installing a CDI on our 1979 O'day 25 cb. You want the FF4, get the ball bearing option. The cheapest price I found was from North Sail Direct with Dan Calore, for $550.

Our forestay was 30' 11.25" or there abouts. That was a length I got off of several rigging websites, and when we replaced our headstay (we replaced all the standing rigging this season) and measured the old one pin to pin as it had been set (not completely closed) it was almost exactly that measurement, which we used to calculate how long to cut the luff for the CDI. Everything seems to fit like a glove. . .

Hope that helps-

Wes
