My forestay was sheered off by the Jib Furler! The boat is only 5 months old. Luckily she was at port. Has anyone experienced a similar failure?

Yikes! I've never heard of that happening due to such a cause. You say the boat is only five months old. It's a new boat, or you've only had it five months? I ask this because this forum is usually about the older H31s. Did the mast fall?

There is a high percentage of boats
coming out of the Hunter delerships with rigging mistakes. I would expect Catalina and the other production boats manufactureres to have similar mistakes ratios. Perhaps we will need to take a surveyor next time we purchase a brand new boat.
