My Hunter 326 doesn't appear have a UV strip, hence when the sail is furled there is a portion of sail exposed to the sun. I say doesn't appear coz for sure there is no strip of coloured material along the luff.
I am concerned that the UV will damage the sail.
Is it feasible to add a UV strip, can suitable material be obtained for this job.

Sorry if its a dumb question....Newbie!!!!!!

Some head sails, especially older ones have a sun cover on the edge made out of white sail material.....It looks like there is not sun cover but it's hard to see. It's a lot thinner than the colored sunbrella fabric, but it is possible that you do not have a sacrificial sun cover it the sail was not made for a roller furling.

To answer your second question, yes, any sail loft can add a sacrificial strip to your sail. If you have a little skill with a sewing machine you can do it yourself. For DYI checkout sailrite.com

Thanks guys for all the feedback.
I will double check this weekend when I'm on the boat to see if Nelsonhow is right that perhaps there is a sacrificial strip but it may be same colour of sail and therefore not obvious that it is there.

Here's hoping!!
