I need the burner assembly for an older Force 10 kerosene bulkhead heater. The one I have says "Made in Portugal" on it and has a cleaning needle. I'm willing to buy the entire heater to get the burner.

The company "Force Heaters" made diesel, kerosene and propane models of the original "Force 10" heater. Dickinson (who also owns Sig Marine) bought out the Force Heaters and now makes a version of the original Force 10 to their own specs - called the "Cozy Cabin Heater". The Cozy Cabin Heater is only available in propane. If you own an original Force 10 Heater (there will be a badge on the heater saying "Force 10") and you have issues with the burner, regardless of fuel, then you will be limited to upgrading to the New Propane Burner Assembly that fits both the Force 10 and the Cozy Cabin Heater. Regrettably, there are no burner parts available for the original Force 10 heaters.

Over the years I have had more than one pleasant conversation with the Dickinson folks (aka Force 10 a few years ago). I also had occasion to visit them because I am berthed right on the Canadian border. I can't speak highly enough about their products and customer service. I went so far as to purchase their LPG conversion kit and the low pressure adaptor so I could use the smaller gas canisters available almost anywhere. Mounted outside on the rail they worked just fine and avoided the expense of a full conversion. I have no other gas onboard. Dickinson offers the kit with bracket. Just screw a canister in and go. Not being a live-aboard, in the end and unlike most folks, I decided I actually preferred the kerosene version. No accounting for taste. Mine works fine except the PO stripped the self cleaning needle assembly which can lead to some tedious poking with a very thin wire such as was required by the old Svea mountaineering stoves. Hence my search for a kerosene burner assembly with the self-cleaner intact. Thanks for the replies.
