the e33 has a saildrive. The saildrive comes thru a rubber sort of gasket, and when the boat was hauled, this is just covered in barnacles. Small ones.Every sq in of the gasket, which is about 2' sq.
I am wondering if anyone has a solution to getting these off. To scrap hard might damage the gasket. I have used oxacacylic (sp) acid, but am afraid that would also damage it.
Finally, has anyone painted the gasket with anti fouling paint?
This isn't a 'real' waterproof gasket. The saildrive is recessed a few inched above, so this just continues the hull and gives a laminar flow. Thanks.
