Folding wheel size for hunter 36?

Hi I have a new to me 2004 hunter 36 it came with a 42 inch wheel ,but it makes it very hard to move around the cockpit .not sure if that was the original size ? So I'm looking into a folding wheel and wonder which size to get .I'm thinking the 40 inch . Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated

I replaced my 41" with a folding 32"... Just the right size for me and my 376..

Annapolis, Maryland Boat show in 2007.. I think it was about $450.. I see that they are up to $900 now..

I've got a 36 on Escape, works great - I can sit and steer from the side seats, couldn't quite reach with the stock 34 fixed wheel. Folded, it's easy to get around

Thanks for all your help . Glad to know the 34 was the stock wheel so i won't undersize it by going with the 36

Essentially the same boat and I wanted more cockpit room so got the Lewmar folding 36" wheel last year to replace the fixed 36" wheel and it is great. Helps out a a lot.
Got it on sale at Defender around this time of year.

I have the 42 folding wheel and is very saticfied with it when sailing despite the trouble to pass by, but nice to sit down and reach the wheel easy.
